A two day Training of ‘Modern Methods of Aquaculture’ organized by ICAR-CIFE, Kolkata in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, Mizoram commenced on 28th November, 2017 at the Fisheries Conference Hall, New Secretariat Complex. The training was attended by 30 selected progressive farmers from different districts of Mizoram along State Fisheries Extension personnel.

The Training was inaugurated by S.P.Singh, Director of Fisheries, Mizoram. The Director stated that Aquaculture is one of the most important sectors to provide sustainable livelihood to the rural farmers and for economic upliftment of the state. Mizoram has adequate potential for fisheries and is striving for self sufficiency in Aquaculture products under vision 2020.

Resource person Dr. G.H.Pailan Principal Scientist and Officer in-charge CIFE, and Dr. S. MunilKumar gave training on the latest methods of Aquaculture pertaining to pond management , feeds and feeding strategies and water quality monitoring.
