•The Department is headed by the Director of Fisheries supported by one each of Joint Director, Deputy Director and Assistant Director in the Directorate level.
•The District Offices are headed by a District Fisheries Development Officer (DFDO)
•However, as the establishment of the DFDO’s Office in the 3 new district is not followed by creation of the corresponding post, the senior Fisheries Extension Officers are taking temporary charge of the functions of the DFDO. A proposal for the post of DFDO and its subordinate has been sent to the government, which is crucial to the office's efficient operation.
