The Scheme aims at the followings:-
1) Survey and investigation of coldwater fishes in the natural water (Rivers and Streams) for conservation and augmentation of fish production.
2) Setting up of backyard hatchery for ornamental fish.
3) Training of entrepreneurs for hatchery, rearing and fabrication unit for ornamental fishes.
Under the scheme, 1 unit of backyard hatchery for ornamental fish has also been constructed at Lengpui.
